With the Super Bowl only nine days away, the New England Patriots’ streak of perfect practice participation continues: once again the team had everybody fully present for Friday’s session — the second of three this week. Meanwhile, their upcoming opponent, the Los Angeles Rams, again saw their list grow and now have four players on their injury report. Let’s take a look:
Did not participate
Patriots: none
Rams: P Johnny Hekker (illness), S Blake Countess (foot), K Greg Zuerlein (left foot)
Like yesterday, L.A. had three players miss the session. However, while running back C.J. Anderson returned in limited participation, Johnny Hekker was newly added to the list. The Rams’ punter, who was recently praised by Patriots head coach Bill Belichick as a “weapon,” joined fellow special teamers Greg Zuerlein and Blake Countess on the list of absentees. Zuerlein and Countess, meanwhile, missed their second straight practice.
Limited participation
Patriots: none
Rams: RB C.J. Anderson (illness)
Anderson, who is the Rams’ most productive running back this postseason, returned to practice today after missing Thursday’s session. But while his comeback certainly is good news for Los Angeles, it appears as if a bug is going through the locker room with Hekker now also dealing with an illness.
