With the Super Bowl only four days away, the Pats Pulpit staff is traveling down memory lane to share it most cherished memories of the New England Patriots’ previous 10 title games. Today, we’ll continue the series with Ryan Keiran’s favorite moment: New England beating the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 49.
2014, sitting in my college dorm with a Patriots fan and a Seahawks fan. The Seahawks fan had stayed mostly quiet all night despite Seattle controlling a lot of the game. He knew he was facing a team built to break your heart in those moments.
But when Jermaine Kearse made the incredible catch, I fell to the floor having seen this story twice before now, while the Seahawks fan finally let the trash talking start.
Alas, Malcolm Butler knew exactly what to do and we let him have it. Within 15 minutes we had been yelled at “we get it they won, shut up!” Going outside to celebrate with the handful of other Patriots fans at my New York campus as snow started falling was incredible.
