New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels received consideration for some head coaching positions this year, most notably for the Green Bay Packers, but he took the podium on Tuesday to explain his immediate future.
NFL Media’s Mike Giardi asked McDaniels whether or not the coordinator was in contact with the Cleveland Browns regarding their head coaching position and McDaniels said he was not.
NBC’s Phil Perry followed up by asking whether McDaniels would be interviewing with any other teams.
“The book is closed,” McDaniels replied. “It’s always a humbling experience to have an opportunity. I was thankful for the opportunity to meet with Green Bay. Always very educational to go through it. I’m completely focused on the Chargers. I’ll be here moving forward.”
So there you have it. The Patriots should have their offensive coordinator for the foreseeable future and Kliff Kingsbury will have to find a job with some other team.
