Despite ranking among the NFL’s best scoring teams, the New England Patriots’ offense has had its fair share of inconsistency over the first half of the regular season. However, reinforcements are on their way and it seems as if the first of them will already be on the field against the Philadelphia Eagles: as first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, first-round rookie wide receiver N’Keal Harry is expected to make his NFL debut later today.
Harry, who was drafted 32nd overall by the Patriots in April, only recently rejoined the team’s active roster after starting the season on injured reserve: the Arizona State product hurt his ankle during the preseason opener and was forced to sit out the remainder of the exhibition schedule because of it. On October 15, however, he returned to the practice fields as New England’s first of two return designees (the other being left tackle Isaiah Wynn).
And now, after joining the Patriots’ 53-man squad two weeks ago but being inactive against the Baltimore Ravens, the 21-year-old is on his way to take the field for the first time in his young career. Harry will join Julian Edelman, Mohamed Sanu and Phillip Dorsett on the game day roster, potentially pushing fellow rookie wide receivers Jakobi Meyers and Gunner Olszewski to the inactives list — all while adding size and downfield skill to the receiving corps.
The full lists of active and inactive players will be announced 90 minutes before kickoff.
