In not even 90 minutes, the New England Patriots will play their 10th game of the 2019 regular season, trying to improve their record to 9-1: the team will square off on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles, who are entering today’s contest with a 5-4 record. Before getting ahead of ourselves, however, let’s take a look at the players on both sides who have been declared inactive and will therefore not participate in today’s contest:

Patriots inactives

SS Patrick Chung

RB Damien Harris

OT Korey Cunningham

QB Cody Kessler

DT Byron Cowart

WR Gunner Olszewski

TE Ryan Izzo

Two of the seven inactive players were already declared out before today: strong safety Patrick Chung (heel/chest) and rookie running back Damien Harris (hamstring) did not make the trip to Philadelphia and will miss the contest. While Harris’ absence does not have much of an impact on the team — he would likely have been inactive even when healthy — Chung will certainly be missed, with Terrence Brooks likely helping to replace him in the lineup.

Joining them on the list of inactives is wide receiver/punt returner Gunner Olszewski, who was questionable heading into the weekend because of ankle/hamstring injuries. The undrafted rookie is the only other player listed on the Patriots’ injury report on Friday that will not play today. Tight end Matt LaCosse (knee), defensive tackle Danny Shelton (ankle), defensive end John Simon (elbow) and special teamer Nate Ebner (ankle/back) are active.

Also active is wide receiver N’Keal Harry. The Patriots’ first-round draft pick missed the team’s first nine games of the season after being placed on injured reserve due to an ankle injury, but he was reactivated to the 53-man roster two weeks ago. Now, he will make his NFL debut alongside New England’s other wide receivers: Julian Edelman, Mohamed Sanu, Phillip Dorsett and fellow rookie Jakobi Meyers.

Eagles inactives

QB Nate Sudfeld

WR Alshon Jeffery

RB Jordan Howard

DE Shareef Miller

LB Nigel Bradham

OG Nate Herbig

DE Daeshon Hall

The Eagles’ biggest inactives are obviously running back Jordan Howard, wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and linebacker Nigel Bradham. The latter two were already ruled out on Friday, and are now joined by Howard who is leading Philadelphia in every major rushing category this season.
