The Antonio Brown saga was essentially over from the New England Patriots’ perspective: the team unceremoniously released the wide receiver only one game into his tenure with the club and after a series of allegations were brought forward against him. Needless to say that Brown was not happy about the move, and he publicly attacked Patriots owner Robert Kraft and later filed a grievance against the organization.
The whole story was a back-and-forth from the start, however, and Brown later seemed to reverse course when he publicly and asked the Patriots to take him back — citing the team still paying him as a motive for why such a move would make sense. New England, of course, refused to pay the seven-time Pro Bowler both his salary for Week 3 and his $9.0 million fully guaranteed signing bonus by the time he was released.
Considering his legal status and the shots at Robert Kraft mentioned above, the Patriots bringing brown Brown back seemed highly unlikely at the time — and it still does. The seven-time Pro Bowler is apparently still trying his luck, however, and earlier today took to social media to apologize to New England’s owner:
Mr.Kraft I apologize sincerely to you and your organization! All I wanted to be was an asset to the organization; sorry for the bad media and the drama ! Thank you sincerely AB pic.twitter.com/oWJCwkrpjk

Whether or not the apology will have any impact on the Patriots possibly bringing Brown back into the fold — they certainly could use him from a talent perspective — remains to be seen, but for the time being a reunion still seems unlikely: he is still in limbo as far as the NFL’s disciplinary process is concerned, and his previous outburst directed at Kraft is still not erased from memory even with the latest post now online.
