The New England Patriots entered the week with just seven of a possible 10 practice squad spots filled. Since then, however, the team has decided to add to its developmental roster: wide receiver Quincy Adeboyejo was signed on Wednesday to bring the number to eight, followed by the team’s announcement on Thursday that it has also added defensive lineman/edge rusher Tashawn Bower to the equation.

Bower originally joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent signing by the Minnesota Vikings in 2017, and was able to make the team’s 53-man roster during his rookie campaign. Serving primarily as an emergency depth option along the defensive edge, he went on to appear in seven games over his next two seasons before suffering a torn Achilles tendon during an offseason workout earlier this year.

The Vikings subsequently placed Bower on their non-football injury list and in mid-October decided to waive him again. He remained on the open market ever since, but on Wednesday traveled to New England on a free agency visit. Apparently, the team liked what it saw as it now signed the 24-year-old to its practice squad — one that now looks as follows as a result of the recent transactions:

WR Devin Ross

WR Quincy Adeboyejo

OL Najee Toran

OL Tyler Gauthier

DL Nick Thurman

DL Tashawn Bower

LB Calvin Munson

LB Terez Hall

CB Nate Brooks
