The New England Patriots will leave Week 12 with a 13-9 victory over the Dallas Cowboys which means that tonight’s contest between two NFC teams is a pretty relaxed affair for the team and its fans. But does the game still have some meaning for the Patriots? And who should their fans root for? Let’s find out:

Green Bay Packers (8-2) at San Francisco 49ers (9-1)

When: 8:20 p.m. ET

Where: Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara CA

Television: NBC

SB Nation coverage: Acme Packing Company (Packers), Niners Nation (49ers)

Patriots rooting guide: Go good game! Tonight’s contest between two of the top teams in the NFC has virtually no implications on New England and the playoff race in the AFC, which means that Patriots fans can root for whoever they want. A compelling argument can be made for the 49ers, though, considering that they field former Tom Brady backup Jimmy Garoppolo as their starting quarterback.
