The New England Patriots defeated the Buffalo Bills on Saturday in what might have been the team’s best game of the season. The defense played well, outside of two or three plays, and the offense looked solid against an elite Bills defense. If the Patriots can play like this against other teams, they’ll have a real chance in the postseason.

Tom Brady and company led a handful of impressive drives against a stingy Buffalo defense, with Julian Edelman, Sony Michel, and Rex Burkhead all standing out. Just as impressive, and possibly more importantly, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels called an impressive slate of plays to get the ball into the hands of playmakers.

On defense, apart from a snafu that led to a Buffalo touchdown prior to the half and a blown coverage by Stephon Gilmore and Devin McCourty that led to a 53-yard score by John Brown, the Bills could not generate any sort of offense, including four three-and-outs.

Are the Patriots back on track? Or should we wait before making that determination?
