The New England Patriots are bolstering their roster depth today, adding yet another player to the roster. After signing wide receiver Bruce Ellington on a 1-year deal and safety Terrence Brooks on a 2-year deal, the Patriots are also signing former Washington wide receiver Maurice Harris, per NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo.
#Patriots are signing former #Redskins WR Maurice Harris, source says. He was there on a visit with Bruce Ellington, who also will sign with New England, as @RapSheet said earlier.

The 6’3, 200 pound Harris has 40 career receptions for 432 yards and a touchdown, with 304 of those yards coming last season. He’s able to line up both inside at the slot and on the outside.
Washington declined to tender Harris, who was scheduled to be a restricted free agent, so Harris does not negatively impact the Patriots’ compensatory draft picks for 2020.
Harris joins the Patriots’ thin wide receiver competition. Here’s the current receiver depth chart.
- Julian Edelman
- Phillip Dorsett
- Bruce Ellington
- Maurice Harris
- Braxton Berrios
- Damoun Patterson
