He wants to join his brother in New England.

Shortly after the New England Patriots acquired defensive end Michael Bennett from the Philadelphia Eagles, his brother and former Patriot tight end Martellus Bennett decided that he wants to come out of retirement for another round in New England.

Martellus Bennett won the Super Bowl with New England in 2016. He signed with the Green Bay Packers in 2017, but returned to New England halfway through the season before landing on the injured reserve and subsequently retiring.

If Bennett wants to play for the Patriots on a cheap deal, then I’m sure he’d be welcome back. He was just as good, if not a better blocker than Dwayne Allen was and was a more dangerous receiving threat. Adding Bennett to the offense would help solve another weakness for the Patriots.

And after last season’s success for Devin McCourty and Jason McCourty, I’m all for the Patriots acquiring all the siblings in the NFL. They have Jacob Hollister and Cody Hollister, and they’ve had Rob Gronkowski and most of his brothers. Why not add one more sibling duo to the roster?

Would you want Martellus to come out of retirement for the Patriots?
