NFL draft 2019: Patriots trade up, draft CB JoeJuan Williams with the 45th pick

New England has picked another player.

The New England Patriots have made their second pick of the 2019 NFL draft: after trading up to the 45th overall selection, the reigning world champions selected cornerback JoeJuan Williams.

#45: JoeJuan Williams

Position: Cornerback

School: Vanderbilt

Size: 6036, 211 lbs

Quick-hit analysis: Originally projected as an early mid-round selection, Williams is a physical cornerback that has a promising athletic skill set. The 21-year-old certainly could turn out to be a diamond in the rough — a potential boundary cornerback or maybe even free safety that needs to work on his technique but has a solid foundation in place.

New England gave up the 56th and the 101st selection to move up and get Williams.
