Tom Brady The Ultimate Leader

Team sports are all about unity. To me Tom Brady is the definition of the ultimate leader and he could go down as the greatest leader in sports. There was strong evidence in his Michigan days where head coach Lloyd Carr praised him for handling whole the Drew Henson situation. That resulted in Tom Brady leading Michigan to an Orange Bowl victory.

When we look around the NFL we hear ex teammates call out Aaron Rodgers and AB’s feud with Big Ben. That is the total opposite about Tom Brady. From ex Patriots and current Patriots, Tom Brady has a brotherhood with all of them. When we see Tom Brady interact with former Patriots like Tedy Bruschi and Willie McGinest they give off the vibe of being the big brother to Tom Brady. As Brady has gotten older, Tom Brady has become that big brother to guys like Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edleman. We do see that connection come to life. One of the great examples was in the 2014 season where Rob Gronkowski defended Tom Brady. This was right after the Patriots victory over the Bengals, prior to that game some people where claiming that this was the end of Tom Brady after the Monday Night disaster in Kansas City. When Gronk defended Tom Brady, we definitely saw teammates love for Tom Brady. Throughout his career, Tom Brady has shown that same gratitude. After Super Bowl 49, Tom Brady gives Malcolm Butler his Super Bowl winning truck for making the interception that won the Patriots the Super Bowl. In 2016, Tom Brady showed Kevin Faulk the ultimate respect where Tom Brady wore a Kevin Faulk’s jersey during his New England Patriots Hall of Fame induction. Kevin returned the favour by mentioning it in his speech.

Sports are not only about accomplishments, but also the way people inspire other people. Tom Brady is an example for all of us.
