After five days worth of practices — two of which in full pads — the New England Patriots have the day off today. Their time away from the practice fields will be a short one, though, as the team will resume its training camp tomorrow. As the Patriots announced earlier today, the club will hold practice on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning, with a potential follow-up session on Saturday not yet finalized.
New England’s schedule for this week therefore looks as follows:
Wednesday, July 31 (9:45 a.m. ET — gates open at 8:30 a.m.)
Thursday, August 1 (9:15 a.m. ET — gates open at 8:00 a.m.)
Friday, August 2 (9:15 a.m. ET — gates open at 8:00 a.m.)
After the three sessions that will again be open to the public, the next item on the Patriots’ itinerary will be their trip to Detroit: the world champions will fly west on Sunday before holding their first joint-practice session with the Lions on the very next day. The two teams will work alongside each other three times between August 5 and August 7 before their preseason meeting one day later.
