The New England Patriots are waiving offensive lineman Tyler Gauthier as the cutdown to 53 continues, according to Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal.

Gauthier signed with New England as a rookie free agent in May after starting 29 consecutive games for the Miami Hurricanes dating back to his sophomore season.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Gauthier has worked at both center and guard, and got the starting nod in the Patriots’ final preseason audition Thursday night against the New York Giants.

Gauthier, 22, saw a total of 141 offensive snaps for New England this August.

The Patriots have retooled the depth of the O-line via trades with the Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills since Wednesday evening.

Tackle Korey Cunningham, guard Jermaine Eluemunor and center Russell Bodine have all arrived as part of those moves heading into Saturday’s 4 p.m. ET roster deadline.
