According to The Athletic’s Jeff Howe, the New England Patriots have waived linebacker Calvin Munson.
Calvin Munson was released per source. Should return to the practice squad if unclaimed.

Munson, who the Patriots added to their practice squad in week six of 2018, was signed to a futures contract at the end of last season and competed well this summer in camp. As of just a few days ago, many in the media even had the former undrafted San Diego State alum cracking their 53-man roster projections, given his solid play in weeks two and three of the preseason.
The news could bode well for a player like Elandon Roberts, who projects to be the linebacker straddling the line between making the roster, and being cut.
If he goes unclaimed on waivers, Munson could be a candidate to return to the Patriots practice squad this season.
