Offseason procedures are ahead for Julian Edelman.
According to Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald, the New England Patriots wide receiver will have surgery to repair a separated AC joint in his left shoulder, as well as a scope performed on his left knee.
Edelman, 33, closed out the month of September with a chest injury that kept him listed on the injury report until New England’s bye week. A shoulder injury surfaced in Week 9 and resurfaced in Week 11 for the duration.
A knee injury followed in the midst of December.
Limited in practice and questionable to play Edelman remained while appearing in all 16 games of the regular season. He finished having caught 100 passes for career-high 1,117 yards with six touchdowns, and having eclipsed 1,000 offensive snaps.
Edelman would rush for a touchdown during New England’s 20-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans in the AFC wild-card round.
On Friday, Edelman was named the organization’s 2019 Ed Block Courage Award recipient.
