New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was arrested and cited for misdemeanor vandalism Saturday night in Beverly Hills, according to TMZ Sports.
The 33-year-old Edelman is alleged to have jumped on the hood of a Mercedes-Benz at approximately 9 p.m. PT, causing damage. Police were in the area working on a robbery case at the time the arrest was made, TMZ said, and later released Edelman from custody.
Edelman is scheduled to appear at Airport Courthouse on April 13, as Mike Reiss of ESPN shared.
Edelman caught 100 passes for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns during the 2019 regular season, and rushed for a five-yard touchdown in New England’s wild-card playoff loss to the Tennessee Titans.
The Super Bowl LIII MVP, who is slated to undergo offseason procedures on his shoulder and knee, was named the Patriots’ Ed Block Courage Award recipient on Friday.
