The New England Patriots signed guard Jordan Roos to the practice squad on Thursday, according to the NFL transaction wire.
To open a spot on the scout team of 16, the organization released wide receiver Mason Kinsey.
Roos, 27, entered the league with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2017. The 6-foot-3, 302-pound Purdue product went on to appear in 16 games between the regular season and postseason during his stay before being claimed by the Las Vegas Raiders in July. Roos would be waived by Las Vegas prior to the 53-man roster deadline. He recently visited New England for a tryout.
Kinsey, 22, spent training camp with the Tennessee Titans and agreed to join the New England practice squad at its formation on Labor Day weekend. The 5-foot-10, 198-pound undrafted rookie played collegiately at Division III Berry College, where he set program records with 203 receptions for 3,343 yards and 50 touchdowns. As a senior last fall, Kinsey caught 65 passes for 1,221 yards and 16 scores to lead the Southern Athletic Association.
Two offensive linemen and three wideouts reside on the New England practice squad following the exchange. That list includes Roos and Caleb Benenoch as well as Kristian Wilkerson, Devin Ross and Isaiah Zuber, respectively.
The Patriots will face the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET.
