A question that has been raised by just about everyone on Twitter is “Why release the team now? Is that admitting the Dynasty is over?” Well... not necessarily.
The Hall’s executive director Bryan Morry explained the decision to name the team now by saying, “As the 2010s drew to a close, we thought the timing was right to take a look back and compare the Patriots’ success to that of the other NFL teams and the dominance was obvious...” in the official press release.
It is also mentioned that the Hall started the process of recognizing the Dynasty during last year’s season, prior to Tom Brady shipping down to
Tompa Tampa Bay. They said, “Throughout the last year, the Hall celebrated the team’s amazing run of success with an exhibit titled, Yes, It’s Still A Dynasty, that delved into the Patriots dominance relative to the rest of the NFL and compared the best dynasties from the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL.”
Whether you believe it is the wrong time for something that commemorates the Dynasty or not, it is a virtual guarantee that Patriots fans will enjoy the brand new exhibit and all that it will have to offer.
In terms of the actual members of the team, we all know they won’t be agreed upon, so let us know the changes that you would make down in the comments. Also tell us your thoughts on the memorabilia that will be on display and your feelings about “All-Dynasty” team being named now.
