New England Patriots running back James White returned on Friday after missing consecutive practices for reasons not related to injury.
But one member of New England’s active roster has been ruled out for Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers. An additional five are officially listed as questionable.
Here are the game statuses heading into Sunday’s 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium.
- Patriots: DT Carl Davis (concussion)
- 49ers: RB Raheem Mostert (ankle), LB Kwon Alexander (ankle), S Jimmie Ward (quad), S Jaquiski Tartt (groin)
Recently signed off the Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice squad, Davis will not make his debut against the 49ers due to a concussion. Elsewhere, center David Andrews, defensive tackle Beau Allen and linebacker Josh Uche were designated to return from injured reserve as New England’s preparations got underway. That opened the 21-day activation window – something to monitor at 4 p.m. ET Saturday.
San Francisco will be missing four starters, with Ward a new arrival on the injury report Friday because of a quad injury. Mostert, Alexander and Tartt sat out each session this week for the 49ers.
- Patriots: WR Julian Edelman (knee), G Shaq Mason (calf), DT Adam Butler (shoulder), LB Derek Rivers (back), S Kyle Dugger (ankle)
- 49ers: RB Jeff Wilson Jr. (calf), OT Trent Williams (ankle)
New England’s handful of questionable remained limited participants during Friday’s practice. And at outside linebacker and safety, Rivers and Dugger both were midweek additions to the report with back and ankle ailments, respectively.
The 49ers tabbed Williams, the seven-time Pro Bowl and 2015 All-Pro left tackle, as questionable with an ankle injury of his own. Williams was sidelined but finished last Sunday’s meeting with the Los Angeles Rams, and logged pair of partial practices leading up to this Sunday’s meeting in Foxborough.
