The New England Patriots continued practice-less prep for the Denver Broncos on Thursday.

“We’re preparing. We are preparing today like a normal Thursday,” Patriots head coach Bill Belichick told reporters on a morning conference call. “We’ll see what the schedule is or isn’t, but at this point we are preparing for a normal Thursday – I mean, normal in terms of meetings, not normal in terms of practice.”

In result, the second injury report of the week brought the same participation as the first.

New England projected four members of the roster, including wide receiver Julian Edelman, as limited while quarterback Cam Newton, defensive tackle Bill Murray and cornerback Stephon Gilmore remain on the Covid-19 reserve list.

Here’s an updated prognosis for the meeting at Gillette Stadium.

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

  • Patriots: no players listed
  • Broncos: WR K.J. Hamler (hamstring), TE Noah Fant (ankle), DT Mike Purcell (knee), LB Jeremiah Attaochu (quad)

No active Patriots would have been sidelined if the team reconvened for practice.

But four Broncos stayed as non-participants on Thursday. Fant has caught 19 passes for 219 yards and a pair of touchdowns thus far into his sophomore NFL campaign. The tight end by way of Iowa is trending towards unlikely for Week 5 because of an ankle injury.

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

  • Patriots: WR Julian Edelman (knee), OT Isaiah Wynn (calf), G Shaq Mason (calf), DT Adam Butler (shoulder)
  • Broncos: QB Drew Lock (right shoulder), RB LeVante Bellamy (knee), LB Joseph Jones (knee)

Edelman has frequented New England’s side of the injury report since the start of the regular season. While managing a knee injury that left him questionable on Monday night, the veteran wideout played 46 out of 75 offensive snaps versus the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

Bellamy and Jones were added to Denver’s limited on Thursday due to knee ailments of their own.

FULL PARTICIPATION

  • Patriots: no players listed
  • Broncos: RB Phillip Lindsay (foot), CB Bryce Callahan (wrist), CB Davontae Harris (hamstring), S Trey Marshall (wrist)

Harris, dealing with a hamstring issue, graduated from limited to full availability during Broncos practice. Three others remained in that capacity for Denver, with Lindsay being among them.

The 2018 Pro Bowl running back is on track to make his return from a toe injury suffered in the season opener.
