For the first time all season, the New England Patriots are in the middle of a win streak. After beating the New York Jets in Week 9, the team also won against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10 despite being 7-point underdogs at home. The question now becomes: Can the Patriots make it three in a row on the road against the Houston Texans?
We here at Pats Pulpit think they can. Our weekly picks bonanza shows that every writer participating opted to go with the Patriots over the Texans, and it is not hard to see why: even though New England is still below .500 with a 4-5 record, Houston is sitting at just 2-7 with both wins coving over the putrid 1-8 Jacksonville Jaguars.
“Six quarters ago, the season looked like it was over for the Patriots,” says Pat Lane about the upcoming matchup. “Now, they have a path to the playoffs. They have to win this week, though.”
Before Patriots-Texans takes place on Sunday, though, this week’s slate of contests will get kicked off tonight when the Seattle Seahawks host the Arizona Cardinals in a much anticipated matchup of 6-3 teams that are a) long-time rivals, and b) both fighting for a playoff spot in the highly contested NFC West. As far as Thursday Night Football is concerned, this is one of the better games you will find.
We here at Pats Pulpit, meanwhile, will continue to aim for our ambitious goal of correctly trying pick each game regardless of when it is played.
SB Nation has partnered with Tallysight this year, after all, so we are gladly trying our best to a) use their game picking tool, and b) find out who of us is best at this. So without any further ado, here is this week’s round-up which is totally not biased in the Patriots’ direction whatsoever. And please let us know what you think in the comments below!
