Members of the 2017 and 2019 New England Patriots draft classes landed elsewhere on Monday.
Outside linebacker Derek Rivers has been awarded to the Los Angeles Rams and interior offensive lineman Hjalte Froholdt has been awarded to the Houston Texans.
The claims were first reported by Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle and Field Yates of ESPN.
Both Rivers, 26, and Froholdt, 24, were waived by New England on Saturday amid a series of transactions that included the activation of running back Sony Michel off injured reserve and the signing of inside linebacker Terez Hall from the practice squad.
Rivers arrived in the third round of the 2017 draft at No. 83 overall. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Youngstown State product appeared in 15 games during his tenure in New England, including postseason, registering six tackles and 2.5 sacks. Rivers saw two of his initial three NFL years end in August due to knee injuries. He played 86 snaps on the edges of the defense this fall, and his claim will become official on Tuesday for the Rams.
Froholdt arrived in the fourth round of the 2019 draft at No. 118 overall. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Arkansas product went on injured reserve prior to the start of his rookie campaign and checked into eight contests this campaign, playing 61 snaps on offense and 31 snaps on special teams. His claim would be listed on Monday’s wire.
In additional movement, veteran wide receiver Donte Moncrief has reverted to the New England practice squad after being a standard elevation against Houston on Sunday.
Moncrief, 27, caught one pass for 15 yards and logged 12 snaps in the kicking game during the visit to NRG Stadium.
The Patriots will host the Arizona Cardinals for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff next Sunday in Foxborough.
