Two recent visitors to Gillette Stadium will be staying.
The New England Patriots announced the signings of wide receiver Donte Moncrief and defensive tackle Ryan Glasgow to the practice squad on Wednesday.
Moncrief, 27, entered the league in the third round of the 2014 draft out of Ole Miss. A veteran of 77 career games, Moncrief stands with 204 receptions for 2,561 yards and 21 touchdowns through stops with the Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers and New York Jets. The 6-foot-2, 216-pound target had been released by New York midway through October after beginning the regular season on the practice squad.
Glasgow, 27, landed with the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the 2017 draft. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound Michigan product has appeared in 24 games to record 41 tackles and one fumble recovery. The Bengals waived Glasgow with the failed-physical designation in July. He spent time this fall with the Houston Texans.
The additions bring the New England scout team back to its capacity.
Moncrief accompanies Kristian Wilkerson, Mason Kinsey and Isaiah Zuber there for New England. The active roster’s wideout picture currently includes Damiere Byrd, N’Keal Harry, Jakobi Meyers, Gunner Olszewski and Isaiah Ford, who was acquired in exchange for a conditional 2022 sixth-round selection at the trade deadline.
Glasgow joins defensive tackle Bill Murray on the practice squad. Lawrence Guy, Adam Butler, Nick Thurman, Carl Davis, Byron Cowart and Tuesday waiver claim Isaiah Mack make up the 53-man depth chart with Beau Allen on injured reserve for the remainder of 2020.
The Patriots will face the Jets for an 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff next Monday at MetLife Stadium.
