The New England Patriots did not take to the fields shadowing Gillette Stadium on Christmas Day.
But 20 members of the active roster projected as limited as the Buffalo Bills, also with unchanged practice participation, near Foxborough.
Here’s the second injury report heading into Monday’s 8:15 p.m. ET AFC East matchup.
DID NOT PARTICIPATE
- Patriots: no players listed
- Bills: TE Reggie Gilliam (knee/hamstring), OT Ty Nsekhe (groin)
The 53-man roster currently stands at 52 for the Patriots after reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore was placed on injured reserve. Neither wide receiver Julian Edelman nor defensive tackle Carl Davis, who were designated to return from IR last week, were spotted during the initial practice of this week.
Buffalo’s non-participants on Thursday also would not have practiced on Friday.
LIMITED PARTICIPATION
- Patriots: RB Damien Harris (ankle), RB J.J. Taylor (quadricep), WR Donte Moncrief (thigh), WR Matthew Slater (knee), OT Jermaine Eluemunor (ankle), OT Justin Herron (ankle), G Shaq Mason (calf), C David Andrews (calf), DT Lawrence Guy (shoulder), DT Adam Butler (shoulder), DT Byron Cowart (back), LB John Simon (hamstring), LB Shilique Calhoun (knee), LB Tashawn Bower (ankle), LB Ja’Whaun Bentley (shoulder), LB Anfernee Jennings (shoulder), CB J.C. Jackson (knee), CB Jonathan Jones (neck), K Nick Folk (back), LS Joe Cardona (ankle)
- Bills: QB Jake Fromm (not injury related), WR Andre Roberts (back), OT Daryl Williams (groin), S Jaquan Johnson (ankle)
The Patriots had downgraded both Harris and Moncrief from questionable to out ahead of Week 15 versus the Miami Dolphins. The running back and receiver missed the visit to Hard Rock Stadium due to ankle and thigh ailments, respectively. A pair of captains in Andrews and Bentley were among those to incur injuries during the 22-12 loss. And on the edge of New England’s defense, Simon also exited the game.
Roberts stayed limited on Friday’s Bills estimation. The three-time Pro Bowl specialist, managing a back issue, has returned 31 kickoffs and 25 punts for 1,173 combined yards on the campaign.
FULL PARTICIPATION
- Patriots: no players listed
- Bills: QB Josh Allen (knee/ankle), WR Stefon Diggs (foot), DE A.J. Epenesa (not injury related), CB Tre’Davious White (neck)
No Patriots would have seen the light turn from yellow to green on Friday.
As for the Bills, the same group would’ve remained there in full. The Allen-to-Diggs connection has resulted in north of 100 completions for north of 1,300 yards as well as five touchdowns this season. Official game statuses will follow on Saturday.
