The New England Patriots enter Week 14 with a practice squad of 14.
Rookie outside linebacker Rashod Berry reverted from the active roster following Sunday’s matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers, according to the NFL transaction wire.
Berry, 24, had been a standard elevation on the eve of New England’s 45-0 win. The Ohio State product saw 22 snaps on defense, nine snaps on special teams, and was part of the blocking convoy on punt returner Gunner Olszewski’s 70-yard and 61-yard runbacks.
The shutout at SoFi Stadium marked the second appearance for Berry, who made his Patriots debut as a Covid-19 replacement in October and arrived as an undrafted free agent in April.
The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Berry spent time both on the defensive end and at tight end during his 50-game Buckeyes career, finishing with 17 receptions for 198 yards and four touchdowns.
A pair of openings remain on New England’s scout team after the veteran signings of wide receiver Donte Moncrief and defensive tackle Akeem Spence to the 53-man roster. Wideout Isaiah Ford, who had been acquired from the Miami Dolphins for a conditional draft choice at the league’s trade deadline, passed through waivers unclaimed.
“We’ll see how it goes moving forward,” Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said of Ford during his video conference earlier Monday. “Hopefully we can continue to work with him.”
