Welcome to Super Bowl 54. The final game of the NFL’s 2019 season has arrived and it will see the champions from the AFC and the NFC go at each other: the Kansas City Chiefs will play the San Francisco 49ers for the Vince Lombardi Trophy — it would be the Chiefs’ second since the 1969 season, and the 49ers’s record-tying sixth.

With that being said, let’s get some more information on today’s game and who fans of the New England Patriots should be rooting for.

NFC San Francisco 49ers (13-3) vs AFC Kansas City Chiefs (12-4)

When: 6:30 p.m. ET

Where: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens FL

Television: FOX

SB Nation coverage: Niners Nation (49ers), Arrowhead Pride (Chiefs)

Patriots rooting guide: Go 49ers! While the result of today’s game will have no direct impact no the Patriots in terms of draft positioning or the like, San Francisco is still the team to root for — primarily for one reason: ex-Patriots. While the 49ers have three on their roster, the Chiefs field only one. Furthermore, long time New England wide receiver and current San Francisco assistant coach Wes Welker is trying to win his first Super Bowl in four tries. Add it all up, and the NFC champions become the team to root for.
