It seems like Tom Brady leaving the New England Patriots is the only story that can be discussed at this point in time, and for good reason. He was a cornerstone of the best dynasty in North American sports and he will no longer be in a Patriots uniform. There are many questions about where he’ll go and what the Patriots will do to replace him. Those will be answered in due time.
There are also many other moving pieces with free agency. The Patriots retained both Devin McCourty and Jason McCourty. They franchise tagged Joe Thuney. They extended Matthew Slater. This is a team focused on leadership and the vacuum that Brady’s absence will create.
