Tampa Bay Buccaneers v New York Giants

A Super Bowl LII champion will be revisiting the New England Patriots.

According to SiriusXM NFL’s Adam Caplan, New England has agreed to terms with 28-year-old defensive tackle Beau Allen on a two-year contract worth a maximum of $8 million.

Allen entered the league as a Philadelphia Eagles seventh-round draft pick in 2014. The 6-foot-3, 327-pound Wisconsin product spent his initial four NFL seasons with Philadelphia before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Allen has appeared in 90 career games to log 117 tackles and 2.5 sacks, and made a pair of stops versus New England in the February 2018 encounter.

He saw 179 snaps on defense and 137 snaps on special teams for Tampa Bay this past campaign. A Pro Football Focus grade of 73.9 against the run was earned along the way.

Incumbent Patriots nose tackle Danny Shelton departed for the Detroit Lions on a reported two-year pact prior to the start of free agency Wednesday.
