Free agency
Wait, what? Don’t underestimate the power of the NFL’s free agency period. The entire roster building process gets shaken up once the market opens on March 18, after all, and talent will move all over the league. From the New England Patriots’ perspective, the fate of players such as quarterback Tom Brady, guard Joe Thuney, linebackers Kyle Van Noy and Jamie Collins, and safety Devin McCourty could have a big impact on the team’s draft board.
Top-30 visits
Each team is allowed to bring up to 30 players (excluding those from local colleges) into its facility. These meetings are strictly governed by the league and teams, for example, are not allowed to do on-field workouts with prospects coming in. However, the multi-hour meetings give both parties a chance to get to know each other a bit better with the teams being able to interview prospects without the time constraints present at the combine. In order to stay up to date with any potential Top-30 visits in New England, make sure to regularly visit our pre-draft tracker.
