The third and final day of the NFL draft continues to roll along, but it has come to an end for the New England Patriots who have just made their 10th and final selection this year. After already adding kicker Justin Rohrwasser in the fifth round, guards Michael Onwenu and Justin Herron as well as linebacker Cassh Maluia in the sixth, the team has now also added to its center position: the Patriots have drafted Dustin Woodard out of Memphis with the 230th overall selection in the seventh round.
A smaller player at 6-foot-1, 295 pounds, Woodard does bring considerable experience to the table after having started 52 games during his career at Memphis. He will likely compete with the aforementioned guards for a backup role along the Patriots’ interior O-line.
Following the selection of Woodard, the Patriots’ final draft haul therefore looks as follows:
Round 1: --
Round 2: S Kyle Dugger, LB Josh Uche
Round 3: LB Anfernee Jennings, TE Devin Asiasi, TE Dalton Keene
Round 4: --
Round 5: K Justin Rohrwasser
Round 6: G Michael Olwenu, G Justin Herron, LB Cassh Maluia
Round 7: C Dustin Woodard
