The New England Patriots promoted Monti Ossenfort to director of college scouting following the departure of Jon Robinson in 2014.
Now, Ossenfort is set to reunite with the general manager of the Tennessee Titans.
Ossenfort has been hired as Tennessee’s director of player personnel, Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com reported Monday evening.
Ossenfort spent a total of 15 seasons in New England. The former starting quarterback at the University of Minnesota-Morris worked under the titles of personnel assistant, area scout, national scout and assistant director of college scouting before succeeding Robinson six campaigns ago.
With Robinson’s Titans, Ossenfort will join head coach Mike Vrabel and a roster of players from the Patriots’ past that includes cornerback Malcolm Butler, guard Jamil Douglas and wide receiver Cody Hollister.
Ossenfort, whose contract was scheduled to expire after the NFL draft, had interviewed for the Cleveland Browns’ GM vacancy in January.
In the months since then, the Patriots have extended director of player personnel Nick Caserio’s pact and added ex-Browns and Green Bay Packers executive Eliot Wolf.
