The Scho Show Episode 129: Settling the Patriots’ 53-man active roster

The Scho Show is back with a first crack at predicting the final New England Patriots’ 53-man roster. There are difficult decisions facing this coaching staff on both sides of the football and at many positions groups, and Mark Schofield does his best to try and sort those out.

On offense, while the question of starting quarterback might be settled, how many players they keep each position around Cam Newton — including within the QB room — is unsettled. Tough decisions exist at running back, wide receiver and along the offensive line.

Defensively, the strength remains in the secondary, where Bill Belichick likely keeps as many cornerbacks and safeties as he can. EDGE/OLB might be a quiet position of strength, at least in the numbers.

Then yes, there is a kicker decision to make.
