Mohamed Sanu’s stay on physically unable to perform would last two days.
The 30-year-old New England Patriots wide receiver has been activated off the PUP list, ESPN’s Field Yates reported Tuesday. The passing of his physical made the NFL’s transaction wire.
Sanu had suffered an ankle injury soon after coming over from the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a second-round draft choice at the 2019 trade deadline. He appeared in eight games, with six starts, to catch 26 passes for 207 yards and one touchdown before undergoing surgery in March.
Running back Sony Michel and core special-teamer Brandon King remain on New England’s PUP list as the strength-and-conditioning phase continues in Foxborough.
Michel had foot surgery in May, while King spent all of last campaign on injured reserve after tearing his quadriceps during the preseason.
The first official practice of Patriots training camp is set for Aug. 12. Padded practices around the league begin on Aug. 17.
