The New England Patriots will open the 2020 season against the Miami Dolphins without Gunner Olszewski.
The wide receiver and punt returner was ruled out on Friday after not taking the field for practice due to a foot injury.
Four Patriots have been designated as questionable for Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium, including fellow wideout N’Keal Harry and outside linebacker Chase Winovich, who would be full participants to close the week but listed with shoulder ailments.
Here is the final injury report heading into the meeting between New England and Miami.
OUT
- Patriots: WR Gunner Olszewski (foot)
- Dolphins: no players listed
Olszewski appeared in eight contests as an undrafted cornerback convert last campaign. He had been limited for the first two injury reports of this campaign.
And following Thursday’s, the Patriots placed offensive tackle Yodny Cajuste on injured reserve. The 2019 third-round pick out of West Virginia had recently been sidelined by a knee issue, and will be eligible to return to the active roster after three weeks.
DOUBTFUL
- Patriots: no players listed
- Dolphins: S Clayton Fejedelem (pectoral)
New England goes without a doubtful status for Week 1.
As for Miami’s side, Fejedelem appeared on the report with a pectoral injury on Thursday. On Friday, the veteran defensive back again practiced in a partial capacity. Fejedelem had played in 64 of a possible 64 games while with the Cincinnati Bengals.
QUESTIONABLE
- Patriots: WR N’Keal Harry (shoulder), TE Dalton Keene (neck), LB Chase Winovich (shoulder), LB Cassh Maluia (knee)
- Dolphins: no players listed
Patriots rookies in Keene and Maluia remained limited on Friday and are officially questionable to play. But wide receiver Julian Edelman and cornerback Stephon Gilmore were removed from the injury report. Both New England starters had previously been limited while managing knee and hamstring ailments, respectively.
A total of seven Dolphins also were removed leading up to the AFC East matchup. That list would include quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, receivers DeVante Parker and Preston Williams, tight end Mike Gesicki, linebacker Kyle Van Noy, as well as cornerbacks Xavien Howard and Byron Jones.
