The New England Patriots headed back to practice with 51 out of 52 in attendance.
And with reinforcements from injured reserve coming.
Running back Damien Harris and wide receiver Gunner Olszewski were both designated to return to the roster Wednesday as preparations for the Kansas City Chiefs got underway. After being sidelined for three games by hand and foot injuries, respectively, it marked the official start of the 21-day activation window.
Captain James White also rejoined the team following the death of his father, leaving safety Cody Davis listed as New England’s lone non-participant.
Here’s the initial prognosis for Sunday’s 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff at Arrowhead Stadium.
DID NOT PARTICIPATE
- Patriots: S Cody Davis (rib)
- Chiefs: no players listed
Davis suffered a rib injury in the process of recovering an onside kick in the fourth quarter against the Las Vegas Raiders last Sunday. The veteran offseason arrival has played 80.5 percent of the snaps on special teams this campaign, tying for New England lead.
The Chiefs placed rookie cornerback L’Jarius Sneed on injured reserve prior to the injury report’s release. Sneed, who intercepted two passes through two games, reportedly suffered a broken collarbone in Kansas City’s win Monday night versus the Baltimore Ravens.
LIMITED PARTICIPATION
- Patriots: RB Sony Michel (quad), WR Julian Edelman (knee), OT Isaiah Wynn (calf), DT Adam Butler (shoulder)
- Chiefs: DT Chris Jones (groin), DE Alex Okafor (hamstring)
Michel set new career highs with rushes of 38 and 48 yards against Las Vegas, and finished with 117 in all on nine carries. The running back joined New England’s limited on Wednesday due to a quad injury.
A pair of defensive linemen were partial participants for Kansas City to begin the week. Jones, a reigning Pro Bowler, registered 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in the month of September.
FULL PARTICIPATION
- Patriots: no players listed
- Chiefs: WR Tyreek Hill (heel), OT Mitchell Schwartz (ankle), G Andrew Wylie (illness), C Austin Reiter (knee), DT Derrick Nnadi (ankle), CB Charvarius Ward (hand), S Juan Thornhill (knee)
Patriots wide receiver N’Keal Harry had been listed as questionable for Week 3 with an ankle issue. He’d go unlisted on Wednesday’s report after playing 46 offensive snaps.
Multiple Chiefs starters would be listed as full participants, including Hill. The three-time All-Pro wideout has begun the season with a touchdown catch in three consecutive games.
