Brian Poole would not be the lone veteran cornerback visiting the New England Patriots on Wednesday.
The organization also hosted De’Vante Bausby for a workout, as first shared by Mike Reiss of ESPN.
Bausby, 28, entered the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2015. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Pittsburg State product has been a member of the Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders over the years since then. Through 26 games and six starts, Bausby stands with 60 tackles and eight deflections over the course of 794 snaps on defense and 170 snaps on special teams.
A Super Bowl LII champion, Bausby’s résumé also features a 2019 stint with the San Antonio Commanders, with whom he led the Alliance of American Football in pass breakups and interceptions.
New England opened the week with five defensive backs listed on the injury report, including non-participants in Jonathan Jones and Shaun Wade.
The New York Jets arrive for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
