As the New England Patriots returned to the practice fields on Thursday, so did linebacker Dont’a Hightower and defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr.

The pair of starters would be among the limited after missing New England’s previous session, while an additional trio remained sidelined as the New York Jets draw near.

Here’s the updated injury report heading into Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium.

  • CB Jonathan Jones (shoulder)
  • CB Shaun Wade (concussion)

  • TE Tyler Kroft (back)
  • LB C.J. Mosley (hamstring)

The Patriots continued to be without three on the defensive side of the ball. Godchaux and Jones have missed consecutive practices due to finger and shoulder issues, respectively, after playing a combined 100 snaps versus the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday. And Wade, a fifth-round cornerback by way of Ohio State and the Baltimore Ravens, has not practiced for consecutive weeks because of a concussion.

  • RB Brandon Bolden (thigh)
  • G Shaq Mason (abdomen)
  • DT Christian Barmore (shoulder)
  • DE Deatrich Wise Jr. (knee)
  • LB Dont’a Hightower (elbow/ankle)
  • LB Ja’Whaun Bentley (ribs)
  • LB Josh Uche (shoulder)
  • LB Kyle Van Noy (groin)
  • LB Brandon King (thigh)

  • S Adrian Phillips (back)
  • S Kyle Dugger (knee)
  • K Nick Folk (left knee)

  • WR Jeff Smith (concussion)

  • S Adrian Colbert (concussion)

With Hightower’s elbow and ankle injuries as well as Wise’s knee injury, the Patriots’ limited group swelled to 13 on Thursday. Hightower saw 71 percent of the linebacker workload against Dallas despite being listed as questionable to return. And Wise accounted for six tackles and one quarterback hit along New England’s defensive line in the overtime defeat.

  • no players listed

  • S Marcus Maye (ankle)

While unlisted, running backs Damien Harris and J.J. Taylor, offensive tackle Justin Herron and outside linebacker Ronnie Perkins have not carried a practice designation for New England after being questionable for Week 6. As for New York, Maye graduated from limited to full participation on Thursday while managing an ankle issue. The franchise-tagged Jets safety last played against the Denver Broncos on Sept. 26.
