The New England Patriots will face the New York Jets without Jonathan Jones in the secondary.
The veteran nickelback has been ruled out ahead of Sunday’s AFC East matchup after missing three consecutive practices due to a shoulder issue. Rookie defensive back Shaun Wade, who last practiced on Oct. 6 because of a concussion, has also been scratched for New England’s active roster.
An additional 14 are questionable.
Here’s the final injury report heading into the 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium.
OUT
Patriots
- CB Jonathan Jones (shoulder)
- CB Shaun Wade (concussion)
Jets
- TE Tyler Kroft (back)
Sunday will mark the first missed game since December 2019 for Jones, who has appeared in 85 of 86 games in the regular season since arriving as an undrafted free agent. The Auburn product stands with 225 snaps on defense and 68 snaps on special teams this fall for New England. He’s recorded 20 tackles, three passes defensed and an interception. The Patriots recently signed sophomore corner Myles Bryant to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.
DOUBTFUL
Patriots
- no players listed
Jets
- LB C.J. Mosley (hamstring)
Mosley remained a non-participant in Jets practice due to a hamstring injury suffered in Week 5 before the bye. The four-time All-Pro linebacker’s status for the Patriots visit will “go down to the wire,” New York head coach Robert Saleh told reporters during his Friday press conference. Mosley has logged 45 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble thus far in 2021.
QUESTIONABLE
Patriots
- RB Brandon Bolden (thigh)
- G Shaq Mason (abdomen)
- DT Davon Godchaux (finger)
- DT Christian Barmore (shoulder)
- DE Deatrich Wise Jr. (knee)
- LB Dont’a Hightower (elbow/ankle)
- LB Ja’Whaun Bentley (ribs)
- LB Josh Uche (shoulder)
- LB Kyle Van Noy (groin)
- LB Brandon King (thigh)
- CB Jalen Mills (hamstring)
- S Adrian Phillips (back)
- S Kyle Dugger (knee)
- K Nick Folk (left knee)
Jets
- RB Tevin Coleman (hamstring)
Of New England’s 14 questionable, all but Godchaux and Hightower participated in Friday’s practice in a limited capacity. The starting nose tackle has not been on the field this week due to a finger injury after playing 55 percent of the downs this campaign. Meanwhile, the starting linebacker was on the field only for Thursday’s session due to elbow and ankle injuries after being questionable to return last Sunday.
