The New England Patriots continued preparations for the Carolina Panthers with 52 members of the 53-man roster.
J.C. Jackson would be the lone absence on Thursday due to an illness that previously sidelined him on Wednesday. The starting cornerback ranks behind only team captain Devin McCourty in snaps played this season, and is tied with reigning AFC Defensive Player of the Week Adrian Phillips for the team lead in interceptions.
Here’s the second injury report as Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Bank of America Stadium nears.
DID NOT PARTICIPATE
Patriots
- CB J.C. Jackson (illness)
Panthers
- CB Stantley Thomas-Oliver III (toe)
Jackson has not missed a game in New England’s secondary since being among the inactives three times as an undrafted rookie in 2018. And in Carolina’s secondary, Thomas-Oliver III went from limited participation to non-participation on Thursday because of a toe injury.

In turn, Temple and XFL alum P.J. Walker is on track to start at quarterback against the Patriots.
