Kyle Van Noy will return to Foxborough after a season spent in Miami Gardens.
The New England Patriots have re-signed the 29-year-old outside linebacker, as Van Noy himself shared Wednesday evening in the hours after the new league year opened.
“Pats Nation, I’m back,” Van Noy said in a video posted on his Twitter account. “Let’s get it.”

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Media, the reunion comes on a two-year deal worth up to $13.2 million.
Released by head coach Brian Flores’ Dolphins one year into a four-year, $51 million contract that included $15 million fully guaranteed, Van Noy was scheduled to have his upcoming $12.5 million base salary guaranteed on March 20.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Brigham Young product had started 13 games and played 78 percent of the defensive snaps as a team captain for Miami in 2020. Missing two games due to a hip injury, Van Noy finished the campaign having totaled 69 tackles, six sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
The Patriots originally acquired Van Noy from the Detroit Lions at the 2016 NFL trade deadline in an exchange of the No. 215 and No. 239 overall picks in the 2017 draft. The former second-rounder would go on to start 52 games, including postseason, as a versatile part of New England’s front while earning a pair of Super Bowl rings.
Van Noy notched a career-best 6.5 sacks and 15 quarterback hits during the final year of his initial tour with the Patriots, adding 56 tackles, three forced fumbles and three passes defensed.
