The New England Patriots entered Day 3 of the 2021 NFL Draft with five choices in hand, and the first of them has been invested. Staying put at the 120th overall pick in the fourth round, the Patriots added to their offensive backfield by selecting running back Rhamondre Stevenson out of Oklahoma.

The Sooners’ leading rusher in 2020, Stevenson carried the football 101 times for 665 and seen touchdowns. He also caught 18 passes for 211 yards. A big back at 5-foot-11 1/2 and 231 pounds, the 23-year-old projects as an early-down back with upside as a pass catcher.

Stevenson now joins the three players that New England already selected over the first two days of the draft. The Patriots picked quarterback Mac Jones (Alabama) in the first round on Thursday, before adding defensive tackle Christian Barmore (Alabama) and edge defender Ronnie Perkins (Oklahoma) in the second and third rounds, respectively, one day later.

After drafting Stevenson, New England still owns four picks in the draft:

  • Round 5: 5-177
  • Round 6: 6-188, 6-197
  • Round 7: 7-242
