The 2021 NFL Draft is in the books, which means that now is the time to turn the focus towards rookie undrafted free agency. The New England Patriots, of course, are one of the most attractive destinations for unselected college players because they know that they will be given a fair shot to compete under Bill Belichick.
After all, the team has an active 17-year streak of at least one undrafted rookie making the opening day regular season roster.
Accounting for the eight drafted players, who remain unsigned at the moment, the Patriots currently have six open spots on their 90-man offseason roster. While that limits the ability to add undrafted rookies, the expectation is that some follow-up transactions will be made over the coming days and weeks.
For now, New England will look to fill out the roster, while trying to find some diamonds in the rough and bolster the depth across the board. You should therefore look for the team to be rather active over the next few hours and days.
We will track all of the rumors and additions here. Feel free to post signings you see in the comments.
