Jalen Mills will head to the single digits as a member of the New England Patriots.
On Monday night, the former Philadelphia Eagles defensive back revealed on Twitter that he will wear the No. 2 jersey during his next NFL stop.

Mills wore No. 8 at DeSoto High School. The Texas native then wore No. 28 at LSU, where he became a first-team All-American. After being selected in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL draft by Philadelphia, Mills took on No. 31 until switching to No. 21 leading up to last season.
New England signed Mills, a Super Bowl LII champion, to a four-year, $24 million contract as free agency opened in March. Between cornerback and safety, the 27-year-old Tigers product has appeared 63 career games and made 49 starts to record 283 tackles along with five interceptions.
Under the league’s new policy for expanded jersey numbers, Mills becomes the second Patriot to announce a change that was previously unavailable due to positional restrictions at running back, wide receiver, tight end, linebacker as well as in the secondary.
Last week, team captain Ja’Whaun Bentley shared his move from No. 51 to No. 8 on New England’s defensive side of the ball.
