The New England Patriots were back on the practice fields on Tuesday to hold the eighth of their organized team activities. While the session was again closed to the media, team photographers Eric J. Adler and Faith Worrell were present to take some pictures.
In total, 43 players are identifiable on these photos, meaning that they were among those present for Tuesday’s practice. This is obviously not a complete list of attendees, however, but merely a snapshot based on the information available and provided by the team.
DT Montravius Adams, WR Nelson Agholor, K Roberto Aguayo, C David Andrews, TE Devin Asiasi, LB Rashod Berry, OT Trent Brown, LS Joe Cardona, S Adrian Colbert, DT Carl Davis, S Cody Davis, S Kyle Dugger, TE Troy Fumagalli, RB Tyler Gaffney, DT Davon Godchaux, WR N’Keal Harry, TE Hunter Henry, QB Brian Hoyer, CB Michael Jackson Sr, LB Anfernee Jennings, FB Jakob Johnson, QB Mac Jones, LB Matthew Judon, OL Ted Karras, TE Matt LaCosse, LB Harvey Langi, OL Marcus Martin, S Devin McCourty, WR Jakobi Meyers, DB Jalen Mills, WR Gunner Olszewski, S Adrian Phillips, OL Alex Redmond, OT William Sherman, WR Matthew Slater, RB Rhamondre Stevenson, QB Jarrett Stidham, RB J.J. Taylor, DT Nick Thurman, LB Josh Uche, LB Kyle Van Noy, WR Kristian Wilkerson, LB Chase Winovich
The majority of players listed here was also present during last Friday’s practice open to reporters. They also were also spotted on the photos shared by the club after Monday’s practice. That said, the following 12 were not identified on Tuesday’s charge of pictures after being seen one day earlier:
DE Henry Anderson, CB Justin Bethel, WR Marvin Hall, DT Bill Murray, WR Tre Nixon, G Michael Onwenu, CB D’Angelo Ross, DT Akeem Spence, CB Dee Virgin, S Joejuan Williams, DE Deatrich Wise Jr, WR Isaiah Zuber
A reasonable assumption can be made that most if not all of them were on the field on Tuesday as well. They simply were not clearly identifiable on any of the pictures shared by the club.
One notable absence from the photos for a second straight day, however, is incumbent starting quarterback Cam Newton. The veteran left Friday’s practice with a hand injury, and was unable to finish the session. The belief is that the ailment will not be a long-term issue, but he is certainly a player to keep an eye on moving forward — especially during the next OTA open to the media on Thursday.
Obviously, however, reading too much into the pictures can be a dangerous game. Thursday’s practice will therefore be a more accurate update when it comes to Newton’s status and OTA attendance in general.
After OTA sessions on Monday and Tuesday, New England’s players will not hit the practice fields on Wednesday. They will be back for the aforementioned Thursday session and another one on Friday as well. The Patriots will then hold their mandatory minicamp between June 14 and June 16.
That minicamp, of course, is the first time all healthy players on the roster are mandated — hence the name — to be present. All other workouts during the offseason, including OTAs, are voluntary under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
