The New England Patriots had a member of their rookie class return to the field on Friday as running back Rhamondre Stevenson made his training camp debut, signaling his removal from the Non-Football Injury list.
A fourth-round pick in April’s draft, Stevenson was present during minicamp but ended up being placed on the NFI list on July 21st. Patriot’s running backs coach Ivan Fears said Stevenson was, “fighting through a couple nagging things” in May but the extent of his injuries was never known.
The official removal of Stevenson from the NFI list will not come until later, but his presence at practice signals a move is coming. Rookies Joshuah Bledsoe and Cameron McGrone remain on the list.
Stevenson was the only player to return to practice on Friday. Stephon Gilmore, Jarrett Stidham, Chase Winovich, Terez Hall, Byron Cowart, Brandon King, Dalton Keene, Anfernee Jennings, Devin Asiasi, McGrone, and Bledsoe remained absent.
