Mac Jones went 29-of-39 passing for 281 yards and one touchdown in his first NFL start.

The New England Patriots quarterback has since been named Pro Football Focus’ Rookie of the Week.

Last Sunday afternoon began with a backwards pass under blindside duress for Jones. It continued with nine hits, no sacks nor interceptions and a passer rating of 102.6.

Jones finished New England’s 17-16 loss at Gillette Stadium having posted a PFF grade of 78.3, which ranked third among rookies around the league behind Cleveland Browns wide receiver Anthony Schwartz’s 82.2 and Miami Dolphins safety Jevon Holland’s 82.5.

The Alabama product also added an adjusted completion rate of 83.3 percent, which tied New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston for sixth at the position.

Pick No. 15 overall in April’s draft will make his next start against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
