The New England Patriots will look to rebound against the New York Jets after their Week 1 loss. However, New England will have to do so without several of their usual starters. Here’s a look at which players have been declared inactive on both sides for Week 2.
Patriots inactives
OT Trent Brown
OLB Kyle Van Noy
RB Rhamondre Stevenson
DB Shaun Wade
TE Devin Asiasi
LB Ronnie Perkins
No major surprises for New England, as starting offensive tackle Trent Brown was ruled out Saturday. The tackle was dealing with a right calf strain. Yasir Durant will likely start in his place, while Justin Herron and Yodny Cajuste — who makes his regular season debut — will serve as the top backups.
Kyle Van Noy — who is dealing with a throat injury — also is inactive after missing a handful of practices this week. The linebacker was ruled out Friday.
After fumbling in Week 1 against Miami, rookie running back Rhamondre Stevenson is inactive against New York. J.J. Taylor is set to take his place and should see his fair share of work to help relieve Damien Harris,
Rookies Ronnie Perkins and Shaun Wade are both inactive for the second straight week, as their NFL debuts will once again be put on hold.
Jets inactives
RB Josh Adams
RB La’Mical Perine
LB Jamien Sherwood
CB Jason Pinnock
DL Jonathan Marshall
WR Denzel Mims
WR Jamison Crowder
The Jets will be missing several offensive weapons in Sunday’s matchup. Last year’s second-round pick Denzel Mims is a healthy inactive today, while veteran wide receiver Jamison Crowder is out with a groin injury. Wide receiver Keelan Cole will make his Jets debut against New England, however.
