The New England Patriots announced the placement of wide receiver N’Keal Harry on injured reserve Thursday afternoon.
Harry, 23, suffered a shoulder injury in New England’s 35-0 preseason win over the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Aug. 19. He was seen leaving the stadium that evening with his left arm in a sling and had not practiced since then.
The 2019 first-round draft pick from Arizona State will be eligible to return from injured reserve after the initial three games of the regular season pass.
The transaction was first reported by Mike Garafolo of NFL Media.
New England’s active wideout depth chart stands with Jakobi Meyers, Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne, Gunner Olszewski and waiver claim Malcolm Perry from the Miami Dolphins. Additionally, Kristian Wilkerson and rookie seventh-rounder Tre Nixon were retained on the practice squad after clearing waivers at the NFL deadline.
The Patriots re-signed linebacker Harvey Langi in a corresponding move, according to the transaction wire. The 28-year-old vested veteran had been released on Wednesday as the 53-man roster took its initial steps.
Langi recorded 18 tackles, one sack and one interception during the preseason. He originally arrived in Foxborough as an undrafted free agent out of Brigham Young in 2017, and spent the last three campaigns with the New York Jets.
New England opens the regular season at Gillette Stadium on Sept. 12 versus Miami. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET.
